"Common questions on how to speak to NPCs."

Shopkeepers - the ones in town that sell items and buy goods from players.

Q: What do I say to purchase items from vendors?

A: Say "name" buy, where "name" is the name of the vendor. Alternatively, rest your cursor on the vendor and a menu will appear with functions that you can select from.

Q: What do I say to sell items to vendors?

A: Say "name" sell, where "name" is the name of the vendor. Alternatively, rest your cursor on the vendor and a menu will appear with functions that you can select from.

Q: Why doesn't the vendor buy my goods?

A: This can happen for several reasons, either that isn't an item they desire or another npc is answering you. Just say the npc's name again followed by sell if you feel that he is not responding.

Q: I try to buy from a certain vendor; I pick the goods I want and he/she won't give them to me.

A: You may not be standing close enough to the vendor so he can transfer to you. Walk closer to the vendor.

Q: I try to sell my wares but the vendor has no money to buy it.

A: That means the vendor is out of cash. Find another vendor, or come back later to sell your wares.

Q: I want to train in skills, so what is the best way to train besides the training dummy?

A: You could walk around to different shops and ask the vendors within the shops to train you by saying his/her name and then train. They will then give you a list of skills they will teach. Then you say vendor train that skill or the name of that vendor train and skill. The vendor will quote you a price to train you in that skill. Pay the vendor and he will teach you all he knows.

"Common questions and answers on how to get resurrected."

Healers - the ones in the town or wilderness that return you to normal state when you are dead.

Q: I am dead... now what do I do?

A: Travel to the nearest town or look for a wandering healer in the surrounding wilderness, or search the surrounding area for an Ankh or Res Gate.

Q: I have found a healer but he/she will not resurrect me.

A: Toggle war mode and then stand next to them and wait for them to reply. If that doesn't work, then walk out of sight of the healer and then back to them while still in war mode.

Not all healers will resurrect you if you have strayed from the path of virtue (have negative karma, or have killed other players (blue or red) or blue npcs). For those situations, you must seek a red healer (these have their names in red hue).

Q: I am on an island or in a dungeon and am dead, how do I get back?

A: If you're in a dungeon and died, then look for the exit and travel to the nearest town or look for a Healer, Ankh or Res gate in the wilderness.

If you’re on an island and you are absolutely without any hope of being resurrected, page using the “I am stuck” feature and it will transport you to a town of your choice. You may only use this feature twice in a day.

A: By killing creatures and NPCs with higher fame than you. You can also gain fame by escorting NPCs and completing Bulk Order Deeds.

Q: Why do I lose fame when I die?

A: You lose some reputation when you die. Please note that killing that which killed you may or may not return some lost fame.

Q: I lost fame while playing in an Oblivion event. Will the GM reset my fame when we are done?

A: You can gain or lose fame during an event. The GM who is in charge of the event will not reset your fame when the event is done.

"Common questions and answers about Karma".

Q: How do I gain karma?

A: By killing creatures and NPCs with negative karma and rescuing or escorting NPCs.

Q: Why do I lose karma for killing some players or NPCs?

A: You lose karma for performing evil acts. If you kill a good (blue) NPC or a player, you will lose karma.

Q: Why do I lose karma from snooping or stealing?

A: Any snooping or stealing skill usage is considered evil and will lower your karma.

Q: Why do I lose karma from casting?

A: Casting necromancy spells is considered by the game as an evil action, hence your karma will experience losses. This is a good thing for necromancers as the lower (more negative) your karma is the more powerful your spells will become.

Q:I lost karma while playing in an Oblivion event. Will the GM reset my karma when we are done?

A: You can gain or lose karma during an event. The GM who is in charge of the event will not reset your karma when the event is done.
